ஶ்ரீ ஸுரேஶ்வர ஸ்மரணம்

ஜ்யைஷ்ட ஶுக்ல த்வாதஶி நமது ஆசார்ய பீடத்தின் 2வது ஜகத்குரு ஶங்கராசார்யராகிய ஶ்ரீ ஸுரேஶ்வராசார்யரின் ஆராதனை திதி.

ஶ்ரீ ஶங்கர அவதாரத்திற்கு முன்பு உலகில் வேதோக்த கர்மானுஷ்டானங்கள் நாஸ்திக ப்ரச்சாரத்தால் நலிவு பெற்றிருந்தன. ஆனால் அவை இல்லாமல் நேரடியாக அத்வைத ஞானத்தைப் பெற முடியாது.

ஆகவே பரமேஶ்வரன் ஶ்ரீ ஶங்கர பகவத்பாதராக அவதரிக்கும் முன் ஸுப்ரஹ்மண்ய ஸ்வாமியை குமாரில பட்டராகவும் ப்ரஹ்மாவை மண்டன மிஶ்ரராகவும் அவதரிக்கும்படி பணித்தார். அதன்படி அவர்கள் உலகில் கர்மானுஷ்டானத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை ஸ்தாபித்தார்கள்.

மண்டன மிஶ்ரரே பின்னர் துறவறம் ஏற்று ஶ்ரீ ஸுரேஶ்வரர் ஆனார். பகவத்பாதரின் தைத்திரீய ப்ருஹதாரண்யக பாஷ்யங்களுக்கு வார்த்திகமும் நைஷ்கர்ம்ய ஸித்தி என்ற நூலையும் இயற்றினார்.

ஶ்ரீ பகவத்பாதர் உத்தரவின்படி அவர் ஸ்தாபித்த பல பீடங்களையும் வழிநடத்தினார் ஶ்ரீ ஸுரேஶ்வரர். அத்துடன் அடுத்த காமகோடி பீடத்து வாரிசான ஶ்ரீ ஸர்வஜ்ஞாத்மாவுக்கு வித்யாகுருவாக வெகு காலம் காஞ்சியிலேயே இருந்து ஸித்தியானார்.

அவரது ஆராதனா திதியை முன்னிட்டு அவருக்கு தொடர்புடைய சில ஶ்லோகங்கள் பல லிபிகளில் வெளியிடப்படுகின்றன.

Shri Sureshvara Smaranam

(Aradhana – 5128 Paraabhava Vrishabha 12, 2026-Jun-26)

Jyaishtha Shukla Dvadashi is the Aradhana Tithi of Shri Sureshvaracharya, 2nd Jagadguru Shankaracharya of our Acharya Peetam.

Before Shri Shankara Avatara, vedokta karmanushthana-s had declined in the world due to nastika prachara. However Advaitic Realization cannot be obtained directly without it.

Therefore, before taking avatara as Shri Shankara Bhagavatpada, Parameshvara had instructed Lord Subrahmanya to be born as Kumarila Bhatta and Brahma as Mandana Mishra. Thereby, they established the importance of karmanushthana in the world.

It was Mandana Mishra who later took sannyasa and became Shri Sureshvara. He composed a vartika on the Taittiriya and Brihadaranyaka bhashyas of Bhagavatpada, and also a text called Naishkarmya Siddhi.

As per Shri Bhagavatpada’s orders, Shri Sureshvara supervised many peetams established by Him. Along with that, as vidyaguru of Shri Sarvajnatma, the next successor to the Kamakoti Peetam, He stayed for long and attained siddhi at Kanchi.

In view of His Aradhana Tithi, some verses connected with Him are published in multiple scripts.
